I deluded myself that these relationships were full of the warm fuzzies that most people think when they say “family”. But once I realized the true depth of their animosities (my family are not my friends by any means), I was overcome by reeling mind flashes back to the abusive past with a passel of older siblings mimicking abusive parents. So often we humans only see what we want to see & I love the phrase: “seemingly out of nowhere” (becuz of it’s ironic bite)
