After the rain quakes and hurricane
washed up mountains, shores and plains
the earth refreshed the air now clean
a world reborn in shades of green.

When wild winds storm in sudden fright
when hills shake in dark of night
when ocean waves break land so wild
and fires spread in flames that rile
a rainbow soon will arc above
bringing hope on wings of doves.

After the rain, quakes and hurricanes
we rise and shine once more again
and face the day still badly bleedin’
in this garden East of Eden.
