Shabbat Shalom and Happy Fourth of July! ✡️❤️🤍💙
Below is an excerpt from a poem I wrote in May 1998. Time has passed, and the world has changed, but my prayer for our beloved country remains the same. As we celebrate her 250th anniversary, may we never lose sight of the ideals that unite us. May God bless America, today and always.
AMERICA AMERICA
Oh, sing to us, America, about your days of old,
when life was rich with promise and dreams were bright and bold,
may the hymns of glory ring deep within your heart
before it all comes crashing, before we fall apart.
America, America, may God protect your soul,
from sea to shining oceans, oh, hear our prayers and calls,
may peace fill your land, both near and far and wide,
may we live at last in liberty, justice, and with pride.
