I’ve been down this road before
with rabbits cats and magic holes
I have been around the bend
and found the truth way at the end.
I have seen it all before
the Kings and Queens
and so much more—
everyone is in overdrive
with dark blank masks
from dawn to five.
But you make me feel
that life is fun and real
with flip-flops and herbs so green
and other childish plays of teens
sand rocks and birds at flight
you make my dreams come true
with poems on starry nights
you take away my blues.
I have seen it all before
the pretty ugly and the gore
yet I have come to grow and thrive
from pools of tears to still survive.
But it’s you who make me feel
that life is fun and oh, so real
like rainbow-colored silver screens
and other childish dreams of teens
bike rides and ocean tides
you make my dreams come true
with surf and wind and kites and glides
you make me feel brand new.
