Yesterday was a heavenly Shabbos. While watching a tiny hummingbird hover among our purple-blooming jacarandas, two radiant arcs of color appeared against a brilliant blue sky, dancing among the wispy clouds.
Moments like these invite us to pause and give thanks. They remind us that the wonders of creation are often hidden in the seemingly ordinary.
As I looked up, I thought of my father, Haviv Shimoni, whose yahrzeit is today, ה׳ באב, and of my brother, Ehud. Though they are no longer with us, they are never far from my heart. May their memories forever be a blessing.
