Was it you who called my name
when a flock of starlings
flew by
swirling in silence
dancing
in perfect murmuration
twirling
as one
in an ever-changing
wave
into the blue horizon–
Was it you?

Beautiful work Yakira!
I remember seeing the starlings of the city of Glasgow swirling over head, it’s a fantastic sight .. I hope the whisper you heard did come from the lips you desire 🤗
Well done Kira! This is a beautiful painting.
So epic❤️❤️❤️
Tis an amazing sight to watch starlings as in one they twist, turn, soar and dive. Pity us humans cannot work together in the same way 🙂 Good morning
Beautiful, organic, graceful poem Kira! “Murmuration”..Bird-speak wafting over all…love it! I lived close to City Island in the Bronx for most of my life and can just visualize your crisp imagery of these vociferous little birds. Great picture as well. Excellent write!
I’m catching a flippant tone here that makes me wonder if this narrator isn’t actually GLAD for that noisy bunch of starlings that has drowned out whoever’s being addressed here. It seems like: la-la-la-la-la I can’t hear you! I’m too busy living & taking in all that life has to offer!
