An angel came to me today
when I was lying sick and frail
he laid his hands upon me
and whispered healing hails:

‘Arise, my love and come to play
amongst the reeds where Moses laid
our shoes we’ll leave deep in the moor
and enter the Garden in Edan to cure.

There we’ll wake to see the bush
in flames so white the heat will push
to bring us closer to recall
the sacred hallowed holy halls.

Stand, my love in days of awe
and seek to see what He foresaw
when long ago He brought us here
Man and Eve to love—not fear.

Ascend, my love awake to see
the beauty out there and that of Thee
and there I’ll stand and look at you
and marvel at those things few:

Your eyes and lips and breasts and thighs
your laughter and your bitter cries
but of all I see the most I cherish
your soul with which I wish to perish.’

There in bed in heat and fever
my body thus began to quiver
in flames so hot I writhed and burnt
in waves of chill and windy currents.

As fever broke and I ascended
to waves of love myself surrendered
in Halls of Heaven in worlds aglow
I stood before My Lord in awe.
