On Sunday, we went for a walk at Huntington Beach. It was a crisp, sparkly day with endless blue sky. We stopped at the Pier to listen to live summer music and drum circle. It was wonderful to be barefoot in park. A perfect California afternoon — like being inside a post card.
A SUMMER EVENING
A summer evening
in Paradise
I’m here alone
and think how nice
it would have been
if you were here
to feel the sea breeze
in the air.
To stroll along the shore
to see the sun go down
to walk back to the pier
and wander into town
along the way to watch
lovers passing by
in alleys and dark corners
some laugh and some would cry.
The sun is almost gone
from this summer land of mine
and as it leaves me here
it comes to you to shine.
