When she was two years old
with white dress and a ribbon
her hand she gave to hold
her legs still soft had jiggled.

The father held the child
and helped her take a step
the tyke he swung up high
with vigor and strong pep.

Later in the day
they came to be together
the children sang and played
despite the stormy weather.

She was their little princess
her skin was soft and fair
her hair a mess of ringlets
her stare was strong with dare.

They wished for her to grow
to be their pride and joy
they gave her gifts with bows
their love was best of toys.
