I watch the news and see the pictures
I cannot help but hear the scriptures
echoes of sages who called for measure
before we lose our worldly treasures.
We look ahead for days to come
to hear footsteps of the Messiah—
he will not come from way out there
he lives in us in quests for higher.
The Wise left long ago
few words for us to carry
about the deeds of man to God
and those to man—the merry.
Before we bring world peace
in places far and noble—
we must look inside ourselves
to find our hearts and humble.
