The yellow hills of Sandy Canyon
lay barren in the sun
just as love has lost its luster
and my heart no longer hums.

Arrows lay in rusty quiver
mangled all as one
like the songs I sang for you
once upon on early dawns.

In the silence endless chatter
rings real raw and craftily spun
stale as thyme on sandy hills
love was here and now is gone.
