This is a fabulous story about my friend Yakira Shimoni Fulks’s father Haviv Shimoni.
What a beautiful and deeply moving tribute to a father and a amazing man who changed the landscape of Israel and fought for social justice. His motto “Do good and pursue Peace” is such a meaningful statement. We could use his determination today.
Although I never had the opportunity to meet him, his daughter I might say, is also an amazing woman and I thank her for posting this memoir in his honor.

Kira Fulks is more than a dear friend in my life. She is an angel. She is the person who designed my book โOur Team-Our Dream: A Cubโs Fanโs Journey Into Baseballโs Greatest Romance.โ Not only did Kira embrace the Cubs Fansโ journey of hope and faith as her own, but she fought with the publisher to get one of my photos (as opposed to โartworkโ) on the cover (I offered to pay her extra for this gallant effort) and she sent the book design to Taiwan on a day significant to her fatherโs life and that became forever significant to mine: July 13 ( 2007) Thank you Kira!
