That was then
and now it’s over
all that was is gone for good—
the honey days and stinking clovers
drifted by as well they should.
Now time trickles slowly by
forming spikes
and stalactites
in that frozen cave
you call your heart.
That was then
And now it’s over
there’s no more time
for me to brood—
all that was is gone forever—
that was then
and now it’s Heaven.

What an awesome poem. I loved how you kept saying, “that was then, and now it’s over.” A strong message.
I really enjoyed this @Kira (Yakira) Shimoni Fulks your voice is magic and the video so beautifully made. I really loved it. Thank you❤🤗
wow! what an experience your spoken word is .. the visuals swept me along with your voice and words .. i think the repetition works and makes that closing line just killer .. oh .. i really like this one! well done! thanks so much for sharing .. see you around eh!?
Superb Kira. Lovely and perfectly chosen images to portray love gone sour and worse. Honey days and stinking clovers tells how love can turn to poison. The frozen cave you call your heart is a great image. These affairs can drag on but hopefully release and heaven the reward.
Love is a learning curve and it can be a rough ride.
All the best
Alan
Kira your words and video are stunning. Your creative soul shines through and helps us heal our lives. I so love your pen, dipped in diamonds of a heart filled universe.👸
It took my breath away, everything about it. I watched it on repeat. Amazing!
Outstanding poetry dear Kira. You made the reader feel and understand every word. The now and then, we shall know. Heavy sadness and the writers wealth. Thank you for sharing your amazing words and thoughts.
I enjoyed this very much, was thinking of the Frank Sinatra song I’ll never smile again, the tone is similar, very cool poem song
Oh this is superb and never has there been a year when this would speak to me, as the reader, more; one of time flying so fast and feeling our fragility, as humans, so much more. It is so simple as your skillful poem, in that we will all simply die one day and there will be so many times, especially in those week hours, where we will wonder where time passed to.
I like this. The way you have written this. How many times I have had similar thoughts. Nice
